Feral Me

 feral horses
live inside me

beautiful

free

wild-horse-waves

they remember
precious things in the

blood of their powered
tendons
glorious
untamed
salt crystal
encrusted mane
running through wild and vast
water gardens

the last man to whisper
into the stallion’s ancestral
ears promised freedom
“be free my faithful friend,
keep my spirit with you and
run when you see
the ropes of man.
my wound will not stop
my spirit escapes
I will guide you as long as i can ”
and the ghost of
el conquistadors
sometimes
can be seen
upon the backs
of the feral

those free
wild horses
that live
within
this captive
dusty
old
soul.
